Umbrellas

One of the Christmas presents that was a favorite of all three was something practical - an umbrella.  They get so excited to use it and even if it is not a necessity, just a tad bit overcast, the desire to get the umbrella out is unreal!  I can only imagine what the cars going by think when they see this sight!

These little people make me so happy!  They make me what to get my umbrella out again just to experience it through their eyes!  They are teaching me so much!

Donkey Ball

A local school hosted a donkey ball game in which area fire departments werecompeted against each other to see who would be the most sore or not able to walk at all the next day! 

Daddy took part in the activities while we sat back and watched, and LAUGHED. Brooke was skeptical at first, not wanting her daddy to fall and hurt his nose, it would bleed and he would cry.  The boys were all about it!  Is that the difference between boys and girls?

It was hysterical entertainment for all ages. The kids giggled at the antics not really understanding, the adults would groan under their breath and laugh out loud when the men would fall to the floor. It was a fun Friday night for sure.

Our newest family member

We made signs in anticipation of greeting our newest family member - boy or girl we did not know!

We waited for news all day and around 5:00, we got news!  Sophia Grace was born January 11 - she is beautiful!

We made a quick trip to the hospital to welcome her and to congratulate her mommy and daddy. Brooke and Zach were unsure about this tiny new person, but Luke was all about her! It will be interesting to see how the family dynamics will continue to change with more family members!

Happy New Year - 2012

New Year's Eve was relaxing and laid back this year.  We had a dinner party for both grandparents and cousin Addie.  After dinner and dessert, we played some games, and some of us won some money.  The kids were happy to help when they realized that money was involved.  We're raising some smart ones!

The Sunday after the holiday hustle and bustle, we went on our yearly family outing.  This year we took the trio to see their first movie at the theater!  It was a great experience and they had so much fun.  Their 3 year oldbirthday party theme was the Chipmunks and it just so happened that their newest movie was in theaters over Christmas break.  So...we went to see the Chipmunks on the big screen and afterward stopped for a few pictures.

We all had a great time and will have to take the time to catch another flick sometime in the future (when we have giftcards!)!
