A Family Wedding

Luke's godfather Nick had been dating Emily, a former student of mine for more than 8 years.  They are a great couple and super to the kids.  We love spending time with them even though Nick isn't around much due to finishing his 3rd college degree - a doctorate! 

They asked Luke to be a ring-bearer in their wedding.  Such excitement!  Leading up to the wedding, Luke would tell everyone that it was "his wedding" and he was marrying Emily.  We can't blame him, she's beautiful and has a fantastic personality. 

The wedding has come and gone now.  It was a gorgeous fall day.  Mommy had the day planned out just right with Daddy working and Luke having to be at church by 11:30.  Mommy is not sure why she makes these plans, something always goes awry.  Brooke decided to wake up with a stomach bug and was throwing up a half hour before we needed to have Luke to church.  Daddy got home in time to take Luke to church, while Mommy stayed home.  Nana and Papa came to the rescue and were able to stay with Brooke while everyone else attended the ceremony.  Brooke was heartbroken and thought she wouldn't be able to dance the night away at the wedding reception.  Luckily she was feeling better by 4, we got  her dressed and we were off to help Nick and Emily celebrate! 

Luke did a wonderful job carrying his pillow down the aisle and took pride in his tux.  He was even seen dancing with older women and sneaking kisses too.  Like father, like son! 

It's hard to believe a day goes so fast.  Seems like that's the way life is going lately!

Serious about Food

While in the hospital, I frequently requested strawberry ice cream, craved mustard on any sandwich, ate quite a few salads from the Pasta House, and ate lots and lots of hot wings. 

Luke is such a serious little guy and can be a mother hen, but what surprises me the most is that he is proof that kids eat what their moms ate during pregnancy.   Here is our little man serious about his food:

Spider Monkey

From early on, we called Zach a little spider monkey.  He was skinny, fast, and would crawl or climb on anything and everything.  Not much has changed in 4 years.  I walked into the kitchen to see this:

As I was stiffling my laughter, I asked him what he was doing in my refrigerator.  He just wanted some noodles. 

That spider monkey kid could live on Macaroni and Cheese!

Christmas in March

Mama and Papa gave the kids a swingset for Christmas.  Chad worked on constructing it and had it ready to go in March.  The kids were thrilled to get to use it the first time.  We can only hope for more warm weather to get more time in on this new contraption!

Shaving Cream

There wasn't much snow this winter, but there was cold weather and many days spent inside.  Daddy ran to the store with a list from mommy.  We quickly went to work when he got back! 

Mommy said something about cheap entertainment - we loved it!
