A-Scare-a-Bus

One night this past week, I made myself some of this: 

As we sat down to eat, Brooke said, "Mommy what is that?"

I said, "It's asparagus."

She repeated in a language of her own, "A-scare-a-bus!"

Hmph.....wonder what language she is learning at school?

A Full Weekend

We were busy busy busy this last weekend.  We celebrated two birthdays one Friday night for Great Grandpa and one Saturday/Sunday for Mama. We packed up our house some things and headed up to Brad, Beth, Makenna, and Maggie's house to help Mama celebrate her birthday on Saturday.  We played games, played the wii, and ate lots of good food while relaxing on our little "stay-cation"!

Slept and ate breakfast in the morning:

And...then went to a bowling alley to do some Crazy Bowling!

All three had a good time and enjoyed rolling the ball and hitting the PINS!

What a fun weekend - but...Mommy was glad there was no school on Monday to recoup! 

First Time Fun

Last year, we took the kids to Monkey Joe's. This year, we thought we'd tackle something else.  We packed ourselves into the fam van and took off for none other than...

We had a great time, after we got over the fear of the human sized rat dressed as Chucky Cheese himself.  (Really not sure where this fear has come from?)  We purchased our pizza and tokens and got ready to have some fun.  After the gourmet meal was devoured, we started spending our tokens.  Did you know that each ride/game is only ONE token?  How awesome is that?  Do you know how fun is it to help do everything 3 times, because they really are not old enough to play the games by themselves.

  The carousel had three horses on it, after riding it three times and other people wanting a turn, we hopped off and ventured on to unexplored territory. 

After what seemed like a life time, I wised up and started giving those extra tokens away to a friend of ours that just happened to be experiencing the same kind of fun we were.  The kids had a good time and that is what matters, but lordy, those two hours of fun about did the parents in!

Plato?

I remember being little and not always getting to play with certain messy things such as play-doh, and boy when we did, we were for sure doing it OUTSIDE!  I distinctly remember also saying, "I'm gonna let my kids play with play-doh all the time when they're little."

Fast forward 20 + years
This has entered our home:

Just in case you were not able to read it - here is the best part!

That's right - FIFTY - 5-0 pieces of fun that are full of spirals, hidden compartments, and crevices that hide the play-doh from the naked eye.  Then, we you pull it out again, you find the play-doh all hard and crusty.  We played with this over a weekend and had an amazing time.  My favorite part was trying to pry apart the colors that had been smashed together into one large clump.  The kids really did have a good time and Brooke frequently asks to play with the "Plato."  .

But...the really crazy thing is that the play-doh box and all its contents have mysteriously disappeared.  I'm sure it will reappear when the weather is nice and we have a table outside to play on!
