Singing Songs

We are musical bunch around this house, let me tell you!  The talent runs deep!
Zach and Brooke enjoy singing "Take me out to the Ballgame".


Zach's version:  Buy me some peanuts and Applejacks
Brooke's version:  I don't care if I ever get back, for it's Roof, Roof, Roof for the Cardinals

And Brooke's version goes something like this:  "You and me baby, stucka - my - loo"

She's also very into Taylor Swift's Mean.  She and Luke can rock this song out like nobody's business!
It's all good until they sing it to me - like they mean it!!!

Zach's Appointment

To be fair to the kids, there are somethings that I don't want to post on here to save them embarrassment later on in life, but I can't help but share this one.  I hope years down the road, he finds the humor in it too!

Thanks to some family friends, my brother and I grew up calling a boy's "private's" a pee-pee-ducker. So...the name has carried on and Luke and Zach call it that too!  Well, Zach's pee-pee-ducker, is "broken" as he says.  When he goes to the bathroom, it sprays up.  This is not something I want him doing now (my bathroom is hard enough to keep clean without him spraying my walls!) or when he is 25 and other guys point out that something is wrong! 

We made an appointment with an urologist and Zach proudly proclaimed to everyone, "I'm going to the Doc-tor cause my pee-pee-ducker is broken!"  To hear him say it is truly hysterical and he laughs each time too!

We walk into the office and see a huge fish aquarium which holds their attention for all of 10 minutes.  After waiting nearly 45 minutes, I was just as antsy as the kids.  When without warning and out of nowhere Zach announces his famous line, "my pee-pee-ducker is broken,"  and then adds, "wanna see it?"  as he proceeds to pull down his pants for everyone in the waiting room to see!  Faster than the speed of lightening, I am by his side pulling up his pants while trying not to make eye contact with the other people in the room!  We were the next people to be called in - Thank God!

So...Zach is going to have a little procedure done with laughing gas!  It is fairly common as they go in and widen the hole so that he can grow up and have better aim!  And, hopefully he's small enough that he won't remember or be scarred for life!

Firemen's Picnic and Parade

About two weeks ago, driving down Main Street, Brooke looked out her van window and pointed while saying, "Mommy, that is where the picnic and the rides are going to be."  She must have super powers that we are unaware of because no one had mentioned anything to her about the picnic - knowing full well, that is all we'd hear about if it was brought to her attention.  So... when they saw the rides and tents go up, their eyes were huge and the excitement began.  Oh to be young again!

On our walk over to the picnic grounds, Luke was running, yep running, and this is the kid that doesn't like to over-exert himself or even exert himself at all!   Brooke looked up at her Nana and said, "This is AMAZING!"  (and I said to myself, OMG!)

Needless to say, the rides were a hit!

This ride was a tad bit more grown up...not only did the spaceships go in circles, they also raised higher and lower.  The first time it happened all six eyes and three mouths were opened wide!

We ended the night by going down the slide.

Going Up!

"Wheeeeeee", that was fun and folks its a steal for only $1.50 per time.  That's right, step right up, all three kids going down this fantastic slide for only $4.50 and they did it not once, but twice!  How awesome is that?!?  (They had fun and that is all that matters, right?)

Sunday was the parade.  We set up camp at Nana and Papa's house. 

And got lots of crap candy!  Daddy was in charge of the parade for the second year in a row so he didn't come by until the end and they were so excited to see him!

Beauty and the Geest

We went to Highland to see our niece/cousin Makenna perform in a production called Beauty and the Beast. It was excellent and the kids had a great time.  Luke would entertain us himself with a forced laugh whenever he thought it was appropriate - even if no one else was laughing!

To this day, Brooke still refers to it as ...the Geest.  Why?  Not sure why she is the way she is but we love her just the same!

Gators and Fo-Weeyers

The kids got some hand-me down toys this spring and woo-wee do we love 'em!  We have two yellow four wheelers and a green gator that they love to ride (as long as the batteries are charged!).  It is fun to watch them circle the yard, go in one garage door, out the other, circle the yard again and repeat.  It has lasted as long at 25 minutes and talk about killing time so mommy and daddy can get things accomplished!
